ISSUE
Whilst filming in the arcade we were forced to stop filming as filming is not allowed in their arcade, we wereinformed that if we could get head office to give us the go ahead we could film under supervision. Head office originaly replied and granted us permition, under the conditions that we used ticket only machines. However when we tryed to confurm a date we could not do so. Head office never got back to us, so we decided that it be best to leave that clip out, as time is running out, and were not getting any response. On the plus side it has solved our worry about wether we were aloud to show scenes which could be interpreted as 'glamourising gambling' We will need to find a clip to fill the musical interlude at the begining. We were thinking it has to be vegas related as the first clip should really set the mood for the video, and also give the consumer a good idea of what the songs about, vegas has many connotations so its a huge hint to the song within the first few seconds. A problem with this is we live in the country thousands of miles from vegas. We will eaither have to travel to london at night (which is quite dangerous and exspensive) Or try out our other idea which is to film a picture of the vegas sign and then edit it on the mac using the edge detection tool or somthing of the like. As we will be editing the picture using the movie effects on the mac we wont need to include copyrights.

We have filmed our first opening clip which is katy in the arcade (as it is stricktly prohibited to film in casinos and some of us/i am not 18) this is going to be eaither coulored black and white, or will have a heavy blur applyed to give the dreamlike feel to it so the the viewers are aware that it is infact a dream. This is vital as in the next frame the singing kicks in and we see emma waking up in a bed next to a fella in a pigs mask( the pigs mask representing the fact his is a pig and not a desirable husband, thus implying the wedding as an accident )

It may look cool while you're shooting it, but in the final edit zooming often looks clichéd, and unless done with a very steady hand can often look amateurish.
And Excessive Special Effects:
Even the most basic video editing software has a myriad of of special effects for you to use; color changing, rolling edits, split screens.....it's advisable to use them sparingly. A good video isn't a showcase for how many effects you've mastered. It's usually better to use a couple of effects throughout the video to create a certain feel rather than use as many effects as you can to make a video exciting (if you need to do this, then maybe it's time to rethink your idea. or add some more footage - see Steps 4, 5 and 6).
But Think about Adding Sound Effects:A dramatic music video may be enhanced with some addition sound effects. If your video begins with someone walking down the street, you could add the sound of footsteps or ambient street noise over the intro. If you're making a video for someone else make sure they won't mind you adding sound effects to their perfectly crafted tune!
Don't Be Over Ambitious:A simple idea well executed is often more effective than a complex idea done badly.
And Ignore All I've Said:
The most interesting videos are made when the rules of convention are bent, buckled and broken, so keep experimenting and above all else, make something interesting.

Whilst looking through fellow A2 media blogs (to get inspiration- not to copy i might add). I stumbled accross this intresting and useful bit of information, i will be showing this to my work mates so that we can take this information into account. So far we plan to use a sound effect over a clip in which emma is taking swigs from her shot glass. We only plan to use n square (unless it ends up looking awful) and a few other effects such as mirror and the brightening tool as we know how bad the schoools camera quality can be! Be it goes without saying that use of the 'stardust' tool and the 'lightnening storm' feature would look wrong and out of place, so although they look cool, in order to make a believable music video one must restrain themselves from using.

PROPS and Costumes
Props and clothing needed for the production of our music video;
Firstly we will almost certainly need wedding dress which Emma will wear in the first few scenes. This is to give the impression of a wedding having happened. My mothers wedding dress is big and bold so we may be able to use her dress.
Other props include:-
A set of at least 4 different of outfits will be required if we wish to follow the connotations of music videos of the pop genre, we were thinking a red outfit, a blue outfit, a purple, and a green theme for the bathroom scene.
The red outfit includes a red sequin mask which we picked up at the market. The mask will be teamed with either a red dress, or a red top, make up will be fresh and hair will be curled, the Focus will be on the redness (the background too will be red!)

The blue outfit consists of a blue body-con dress, accessories include silver glasses we found in Poundland. The makeup in this clip is a little more interesting on the lips we plan to have Blue glitter/lipstick to give a 'pop-y' look. Her hair will again be loose curls. This clip will be filmed in Emma's mothers bedroom, on her bed as we like the lighting and layout of the room. This lip idea was inspired by research done through google, we came across this picture...
The 3rd planned outfit is a purple outfit, the purple outfit will have a purple clip in flower, and purple drink( meant to represent red wine, although in reality it will be a mixture of lemonade and blackcurrant). The make up will be purple (lipstick, and potentially blusher) and the hair will be pinned back. This clip will be filmed outside in the natural daylight, the background will be the side of Sally's garage which has a lovely white texture that will hopefully come out on film.
The last of the outfits is the green bikini Emma wears in the bathroom scene, in which Emma is sitting in the bathtub sipping on 'bubbly' her eyeshadow will be green, her hair glamourouly tied up and her bikini green.
Filming- Locations
We have decided upon setting all our filming locations outside of school, We have considerd the idea of brighton to film some scenes upon the peir in the theme park,and on the beach. However in the end we felt that we could make scenes just a nice in our hometown, and sourounding areas

-The dunstable downs, As you can see the sceenery is rather pretty. As we noticed music videos always have scenes in which the singer looks pretty and dolled up.
-Inside Emmas car, I have ideas for some fancy shots.
-In mcdonalds or a Fast food Resaurant. This is to break up the other sceenes, it is abit quirky which fits with the mood of the song. And also goes with the lyrics as the eating of a burger in a weddingdress implys her hungover state. Its not somthing you would see everday which is what one exspects of music videos nowadays.
-On a bed for the 'waking up in vegas' scenes at the begging. Which see's Emma wake up after a night out in Vegas in a wedding dress next to a man in a pig mask, which is a representation of the man shes married, implying she doesnt want to be married to him.
-Down the cemetry lanes for the 'Runnaway bride' scenes. Which will feature Emma running away from the camera, we also plan to try a shot free hand where emma is chased by the camera woman.
Ancillary reaserch
I didnt quite undertand what a digi pac was so i did some reaserch into what a digipak requires, and what connotations are to be follwed when creating the finished product. As it is important to no second guess theese kind of things.
'Digipaks typically consist of a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside'
Theese two photos are examples of Digipaks. The task we have been set requires us to use 4 of our own photos to create a Digipak. This task requires a certain amount of planning, me and my other qroup members also take photography as an A level so we have access to high quality cameras. This thus means that our Ancillary tasks should be of a good standard athstetic wise. We plan to take the photos during one of our filming shoots as then the makeup, outfits and locations will all be avaliable to us. The Ancillary is exspected to link to the actual music video, so this should also help keep the two linked. We also plan to have a colour sceem to link the poster and Digipak together. We were thinking blue and pink as they're lively and femine colours that we feel reflect the mood of the song.
Ancillery task
From the choice of ancillary tasks, we made the decision to do the digi pak and the poster advertising our chosen song. The plan is to use microsoft publisher for the poster as it is a familar software that produces the best results and also to use photoshop as it has all the nessasary tools for creation. As we are all comfortable with photoshop we can use the tools to make ours maby abit more intresting than if we had created it on ms word.
